Urban Planning and Project Management
What does urban planning have to do with project management? Urban planners deal with a lot of the same things that we do! They develop plans through a lot of stakeholder engagement, gather requirements, handle risk, and produce a deliverable in the form of a plan for a community, city, or region.
We're going to hear from Nate Gwinn, Assistant Planner with the City of Spokane on the process of developing the new Downtown Spokane plan. Nate holds the American Institute of Certified Planners certification (the equivalent to our PMP) and has over 15 years of experience as a planner.
This event is our first ever casual chapter meeting. Instead of a formal dinner, we're going to meet at Garland Brew Werks where you can purchase a great local beer, kombucha, root beer, or snacks. Garland Brew Werks is a fantastic all-ages venue. We can't wait to see you and learn more about the future of Downtown Spokane!
