Keynote Speaker Biographies
Amy has been with Visit Spokane for 19 years and is the director of destination services. This role provides Amy with an opportunity to promote Spokane and connect meeting representatives with resources available in the Spokane Region. It’s Amy’s job to know the area’s amenities and serve as an ambassador to Spokane’s assets.
Amy earned a degree in journalism from the University of Montana and worked for newspapers before transitioning to the hospitality field. Amy is the past president and serves on the national board of directors for the Event Service Professionals Association. She is also a member of the Spokane Public Library Foundation Board and the Spokane Arts Board.
Amy is a Montana native, explorer, reader, movie watcher, parent and dog lover adopted by two crazy cats.
Ruth Fitzgerald is a Sales Professional with 30 years of progressively responsible hospitality experience. She is recognized as a certified hospitality marketing executive by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International and as a certified hospitality sales professional by the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Ruth joined Visit Spokane in 2018 as the Sales Director after working for Red Lion Hotels for nine years. Ruth has been recognized for her excellence in the field and has received many awards, while at Red Lion Hotels she achieved Sales Team of the Year and Director of Sales of the year. Most recently, Fitzgerald was recognized as a Smart Women in Meetings by SMART Meetings Magazine.
Throughout her career Fitzgerald has served her profession and the community as a volunteer. She serves the Greater Spokane community serving on the Inland Northwest Board of the March of Dimes.
