President

Ruth Powers

SCHWEITZER ENGINEERING LABORATORIES

I currently hold the role as Project Manager III for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). Headquartered in Pullman, WA.  We have offices around the world. In my current role I am the program manager for a strategic team within SEL. This team has afforded me the opportunity to work and collaborate cross divisionally.  Prior to this strategic role I supported Research and Development.

I gained my initial project management skills and experience working as a volunteer supporting construction projects for a local youth group. I completed my PMP and joined the Inland Northwest chapter in 2019. I am currently working on a degree in Software Engineering.

I have a great partner in crime in a very supportive spouse. Together we share two great kids (age 15, age 11), two dogs, and two cats. I love the outdoors but, realized glamping is better than camping. I do love fishing and hiking which means the camper sometimes must stay home. I love making art a part of my analytical world and express that with scrapbooking and laser work.

Currently, as Operations Manager, Christina applies her project management expertise to support the factory director, project managers, engineers, vendors, and customers.

POTLATCH NO. 1 FINANCIAL CREDIT UNION

I have been with Potlatch No. 1 Financial Credit Union (P1FCU) since 2004.  Having started as a teller and working my way through nearly all aspects of the Credit Union, I gained my CAPM in 2022 and helped shift the organization towards the project management discipline.  My current role is Vice President of Strategy, where I oversee all Project Management activities as well as ensuring that all efforts support the organizational strategic plan.  I engage with all departments across the organization and have learned a lot in the past 3 ½ years on the importance of communication and collaboration.

In my spare time I keep busy with house projects, homebrewing, and camping.  My wife and I also try to visit Boise several times a year to see our granddaughter.

I look forward to supporting my fellow Board Members as we bring forward different initiatives to create exciting opportunities for our new and current Chapter members.

HERITAGE HEALTH

Sean is a seasoned project leader who pairs a service-oriented mindset with deep project-management expertise. Drawing on years within—and advising—Project Management Offices (PMOs), he helps clients stand up, refine, or completely restructure their delivery frameworks.

Across industries, Sean leads complex engagements by injecting fresh perspective, establishing clear governance, and driving momentum. His hands-on work ranges from designing PMO frameworks—defining roles, metrics, and best-practice processes—to building robust scheduling systems that keep cross-functional teams synchronized and ahead of deadlines. Colleagues and clients alike value his curiosity, quick humor, and uncompromising organizational skills.

Looking ahead, Sean aims to broaden his mastery of project-oriented organizations while sharpening the business-management perspective that underpins effective delivery. By staying industry-agnostic, he can translate best practices across sectors, bringing fresh insight wherever he lands. Equally important, Sean is dedicated to mentoring rising project professionals—sharing hard-won lessons and cultivating the next generation of leaders.

Sean holds a B.S. in Chemistry/Biochemistry and an MBA from Eastern Washington University, along with Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMO Certified Professional (PMI-PMOCP) credentials. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family, regular workouts, and nearly any activity that gets him outdoors.
